- Will I lose my ncb if I have a fleet insurance policy?

If you are moving to a Claims rated Fleet Insurance policy then you will start to build up a Claims experience and not NCB. Providing you are still claim free, some private insurers will honour your no claims for 2 years and even 3 years dependant on insurer. But generally after this time your no claims bonus will be invalid.

The quantity and type of vehicles will all play a factor in the amount of money you can save, however getting a fleet insurance policy is typically cheaper than purchasing several individual insurance policies.

- Can I have a fleet policy?

Almost anybody can have a fleet insurance policy providing that they adhere to standard requirements. Please see the next section for these requirements. Most fleet insurance policies are held by businesses, however we can provide a quote for almost any type of business or trading company.

- What is demonstration use?

Demonstration use is cover to allow a customer to demonstrate a vehicle you are selling. There are two different variations of cover 1)accompanied demonstration - where by you or someone insured on the motortrade policy must sit in the vehicle accompany the client whilst they test drive it. 2) Unaccompanied demonstration cover - where by the client can drive the vehicle without the need for you or an insured driver to accompany them. Cover is generally given on a third party only basis.

- Do I qualify for a fleet policy?

You must have a minimum of 2 vehicles to qualify for a fleet insurance quote. Vehicle types can be mixed however typically the more vehicles, the bigger the saving. - What is fleet claims experience?

A claims experience is the equivalent to a no claims bonus tailored towards fleet insurance policies. Since you will be insuring a quantity of vehicles, a claims experience assesses the risk of insurance versus the number of vehicles, details and how much was paid. This is due to the likelihood of an accident being higher for a larger quantity of vehicles than less.

- Will I earn no claims bonus on a fleet policy?

Dependant on whether you have an NCB rated Fleet insurance policy or a claims experience rated fleet insurance policy. If you have a claims experience rated fleet policy you will not receive a no claims bonus but Instead, you will have a claims experience report which works in an equivalent way. If you have an NCB rated fleet policy your NCB will build or reduce like a traditional motor insurance policy.

- Can I have windscreen cover on a fleet policy?

Yes. Depending on the severity of the damage, this can be covered in a similar way to an individual car.

- Can I have a mix of vehicles on a fleet insurance policy?

Yes. The minimum amount of vehicles you must have is 2, and these can be a mix of cars and vans, to commercial vehicles and taxis.

Yes with a motortrade policy you can drive any car to a certain extent but each insurer will have different restrictions & conditions regarding certain vehicles.

- Can i drive a HGV or Lorry on a motortrade policy?

Yes as long as this has been discussed and agreed with your insurance company then we can provide you with a motortrade policy that can cover you for your HGV or Lorry.
